Blue Rocks to host Hot Dog Eating Challenge
Five qualifying rounds spread throughout the season and a final championship round comprise this season's contest, known as the Hot Dog Eating Challenge. The Hot Dog Champion will take home a grand prize package that includes $100 cash, a $50 Best Buy gift card (courtesy of Bridgford Foods), a $50 Dick's Sporting Goods gift card, use of a luxury suite for a Blue Rocks game in 2008, and more.
The five qualifying rounds of the Hot Dog Eating Challenge will take place prior to the Blue Rocks home games on April 28, May 19, June 23, July 28, and Aug. 11. The winner from each round will receive four tickets to a future Blue Rocks game, a chance to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, and the all-important trip to the championship round, which takes place prior to the season's final game on Mon, Sept. 3.
The registration fee for this event is $25. Registration must be completed 24 hours prior to each 10-person contest. Each contestant will receive a gift bag along with one complimentary ticket to that night's game and a ticket to the game on Sept. 3.

The Blue Rocks 2007 Carolina League campaign opens in Myrtle Beach with a 7:05 p.m. affair against the Pelicans on Thu, April 5. The team returns to Wilmington for its Home Opener on Fri, April 13, as the Salem Avalanche invade Frawley Stadium for a 7:05 p.m. tilt.
