Webb, Borbon to rehab with Frisco Monday
Borbon, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 14 with left hamstring inflammation, will be the designated hitter. Borbon will be transferred on rehab assignment to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday and join the Express for that night's game in Oklahoma City.
Webb will start for the RoughRiders against the Drillers. It will mark his first appearance in an official game since his opening day start for Arizona on April 6, 2009 vs. Colorado (4.0 IP, 6 H, 6 R-ER). He missed the rest of that season with a right shoulder injury that required a debridement surgery procedure on August 3, 2009. Webb spent all of 2010 continuing to recover from that surgery with the Diamondbacks.
Signed by Texas as a free agent in the off-season, Webb has been on the Rangers DL for all of 2011. Webb has been pitching in Texas' extended spring program in Arizona for the last several weeks, throwing 79 pitches in his last outing on May 24 vs. San Diego's extended spring team (6.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO). The 2006 N.L. Cy Young Award winner has an 87-62 career major league record with Arizona from 2003-09.
Borbon is hitting .270 with 11 RBI in 32 games with the Rangers this season.
