Gold-medal gymnast Madison Kocian to visit Dr Pepper Ballpark Sunday, September 4
FRISCO, TEXAS (August 25, 2016) - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are thrilled to announce that Madison Kocian, part of the gold-medal-winning team USA women's Olympic gymnastics team and a Dallas native, will visit Dr Pepper Ballpark for the RoughRiders' home game on Sunday, September 4, when the Riders host the Midland RockHounds.
Part of the "Final Five" that captivated the world in Rio, Kocian will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. She will also be interviewed on-field, and sign a limited number of autographs.
Kocian, 19, was part of the dominating team at the Rio Olympic Games that won the team gold medal. She also earned the silver medal individually for her performance on the uneven bars. In addition to her Olympic accomplishments, Kocian won the gold medal in the uneven bars at the 2015 World Championships and the team gold at the 2014 and 2015 World Championships.

Along with Kocian's appearance, September 4 is also Pitch Night at the Ballpark, where fans have the chance to play catch on the field pre-game and will have the opportunity to go on the field post-game for a spectacular fireworks show follow by the premiere of FOX's new tv show, Pitch. The RoughRiders return to Dr Pepper Ballpark for this final homestand of the season Tuesday, August 30. The seven-game homestand against the Corpus Christi Hooks and Midland RockHounds also includes Bark in the Park Night on Wednesday, August 31, State Fair of Texas Night on Friday, September 2, and College Night on Saturday, September 3. The Riders finish the regular season with a 4:05pm start on Labor Day, Monday, September 5.
