Dylan Moore Traded to Braves

2016 Crawdad becomes sixth 'Dad traded by Rangers this season

Hickory, NC - The Texas Rangers, MLB parent club of the Hickory Crawdads, have announced that the club has acquired 2017 International slot compensation in a three-team trade with the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins, that included the Rangers sending 2016 Crawdad Dylan Moore to the Braves.

Moore, 24, spent the first 101 games of the season with the Crawdads prior to his promotion to the High Desert Mavericks (Class-A Advanced) on June 7th. The California native ranked among the South Atlantic League leaders in both stolen bases (2nd - 37) and walks (2nd - 54) during his tenure in Hickory, in addition to batting .244/.372/.394 with 9 home runs 18 doubles, 3 triples, and 45 RBI over 101 games. A 7th round selection by the Rangers in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Central Florida University, Moore was a member of the 2015 SAL Champion Crawdads, with the versatile infielder joining Hickory for the final four games of the regular season before batting .273 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI over six playoff games.

Moore finished his time in the Rangers organization with 17 games in High Desert, where the right-handed batter hit .351/.400/.649 with 5 home runs, 7 doubles, and 14 RBI.

In exchange for Moore, the Rangers will receive international slot #93 from Atlanta and international slots #37 and #97 from Miami for 2017. To complete the three-team trade, Atlanta has sent outfielder Jeff Francoeur and cash considerations to Miami with the Marlins trading minor league catcher Matt Foley to the Braves.

The Rangers have now traded six current or former Crawdads this season. 2016 'Dads right-handed pitchers Erik Swanson and Dylan Tate were sent to the New York Yankees as part of a package for outfielder Carlos Beltran, outfielder Lewis Brinson (2013-'14) and RHP Luis Ortiz (2014-'15) were both traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for catcher Jonathan Lucroy, while infielder Travis Demeritte (2014-'15) went to the Braves for RHP Lucas Harrell and LHP Dario Alvarez.
