Bisons break camp and head to Buffalo

Herd finishes spring with 3-5-3 record

The Buffalo Bisons broke camp in Winter Haven, FL following yesterday's exhibition schedule finale against the Toledo Mud Hens. The team will now begin final preparations in Buffalo for Opening Day on Thursday, April 5 against the Richmond Braves at Dunn Tire Park (3:05 p.m.).

Several Bisons players had solid Springs after being assigned to Buffalo's roster. Adam Miller was 1-0 with a 3.75ERA in his two starts (12.0IP, 10H, 7R, 5ER, BB, 7K), while Brian Slocum was 1-1 with a 2.00ERA in two appearances (9.0IP, 3R, 2ER, 2BB, 5K). Rafael Perez (2G, 0-1, 3.00 ERA) and Sean Smith (2G, 7.0IP, 2H, 8K) also had solid Springs.

Offensively, infielder Ryan Mulhern hit .333 (9-27) with 1HR and 4RBI in 10 games while outfielder Jason Cooper averaged .318 (7-22) with 1HR and 5RBI in 7 games. Infielder Keith Ginter was 4-11 (.364) with 2 doubles and 2RBI while outfielder Shin-Soo Choo hit .385 (5-14) with a double, 2 triples and 2RBI in just 3 games. Infielders Hector Luna and Luis Rivas each had 2HR for the Herd.

The Bisons will hold two team workouts that will be open to the Media, Tuesday, April 3 (7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.) and Wednesday, April 4 (2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.).
