Rob Segedin Named to All-PCL Team
OKLAHOMA CITY - Former Oklahoma City Dodgers infielder and current Los Angeles Dodger Rob Segedin has been named to the 2016 All-Pacific Coast League Team, the league announced today.
For most of the 2016 season, Segedin was the OKC Dodgers' offensive leader and established himself as one of the top players in the PCL. The Old Tappan, N.J. native was also named a PCL Mid-Season All-Star and participated in the Triple-A All Star Game in July.
Segedin, 27, is in his first year in the Dodgers organization after being acquired in a trade with the New York Yankees in January and appeared in 103 games with OKC prior to his promotion to the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this month. Segedin still ranks among both league and team leaders in several categories. His .598 slugging percentage and .989 OPS each leads the PCL. He also ranks fourth with both a .319 batting average and .392 on-base percentage.
Additionally, Segedin also still ranks as the team leader in hits (119), runs (71), RBI (69), triples (9), and extra-base hits (53). He is currently tied with Corey Brown for the team lead in home runs (21). He set personal career highs in every category except doubles.
Segedin made his Major League debut Aug. 7 against the Boston Red Sox and became the first player with four RBI in his ML debut in Dodgers history. He is batting .268 with two home runs and 12 RBI over 18 games since his call-up.
This marks the second straight year a member of the OKC Dodgers was named to the PCL Postseason All-Star Team, following Austin Barnes' selection in 2015. Segedin is the 10th overall Oklahoma City team member to make the All-PCL Team since Oklahoma City joined the league in 1998.
