Bats sweep Knights, 2-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky- The Louisville Bats swept the Charoltte Knights with a 2-1 win Wednesday night. The Bats scored their only two runs of the game in the third inning.

Louisville right-hander Robert Stephenson (8-9, 4.41) earned the win, pitching seven innings, allowing three hits, one run, three walks, and striking out seven.

Charoltte right-hander Kameron Loe (3-4, 4.29) took the loss, pitching five innings, allowing four hits, two unearned runs, two walks, and striking out two.

The Knights were the first on the board when former Bat Jason Bourgeois hit an RBI triple to score Nicky Delmonico to put Charlotte up 1-0 in the second.

The Bats soon scored two runs of their own in the third with an RBI single by Beau Amaral to score Chris Berest and a sacrifice fly by Dilson Herrera to score Juan Perez to put Louisville up 2-1.

The Bats will be on the road tomorrow with a double header against the Indianapolis Indians starting at 6:05 p.m. The Bats pitchers have yet to be announced. The Indians will have right-hander Tyler Glasnow ( 7-3, 1.89) on the mound the first game and right-hander Trevor Williams ( 8-6, 2.68) on the mound in the second game.
