Hawks to host ALS Cornhole Challenge

June 3, 2011
BOISE, ID- On Saturday, June 18 the Boise Hawks will host the "Young Faces of ALS Cornhole Challenge." People in 15 cities will come together across the country to join in a day of FUNdraising playing America's favorite tailgate game, Cornhole (also known as Bag Toss). This is a charity tournament with all proceeds going directly toward research for a cure for ALS.

Every 90 minutes in the U.S. a person is diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and given approximately 2-5 years to live. ALS is a progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disorder for which there is currently no cure, not an effective treatment. Participation in the National Cornhole Challenge Day will have a major impact on funding research for a cure.

The Boise Cornhole Challenge will be held on Saturday, June 18 at Memorial Stadium, 5600 N. Glenwood Street, Boise Idaho 83714. Gates open at 11:00a and the competition will begin at noon. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, as well as there will be fun activities for the kids. The cost is $50 per team of two people and includes (2) t-shirts and (2) raffle tickets.

The event will feature fabulous prizes for top contenders (including two round-trip Alaska/Horizon plane tickets and a custom-made cornhole board), and many exciting items to be raffled off throughout the day (including BSU season football tickets).
