Playoff Baseball Returns to Jackson

Generals host first two games of North Division Championship Series

Jackson, Tenn. - For the first time since 2012, the Jackson Generals are playoff-bound. After a historic 2016 season that saw the team win a First Half North Division Championship, the team hosts the first two games of the North Division Championship Series versus Montgomery Wednesday and Thursday at 6:05 pm CT. All home games for the Generals in the postseason are presented by Buffalo Wild Wings!

The Generals tied a franchise-record with 84 regular season victories on the season. The team had its best-ever half to start the campaign, going 46-24 to clinch a playoff spot before the All-Star Break. The team had eight Mid-Season All-Stars and put three on the Postseason All-Star team. Tyler O'Neill, Ryan Yarbrough and Daren Brown swept the Southern League Postseason Awards, making the Generals the first team to do so since 1991.

Montgomery, the Second Half North Division Champions, head to West Tennessee with a spot in the Southern League Championship Series on the line. The Biscuits were the only team in the league with more Postseason All-Stars than the Generals, and they enter the playoffs having won 13 of their last 16. Jackson dominated the Biscuits in the regular season, taking 16 of 20 and going 10-1 in Alabama's capital.

The first two games of the best-of-five series are Wednesday and Thursday in Jackson. After that, the series shifts to Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery for game three. Both games four and five will be played in Montgomery if necessary.

Game One - Wednesday, September 7 - 6:05 pm CT

  • The series starts Wednesday night with the winner taking a crucial edge. It will be the first game between the Generals and Biscuits since August 4, and the first in Tennessee since July 13. First pitch is slated for 6:05 pm CT.

Game Two - Thursday, September 8 - 6:05 pm CT

Support the Generals as they start their march towards the Southern League Championship at home presented by Buffalo Wild Wings! If the team prevails in the North Division Championship Series, Jackson would return home to face the South Division Champion in the Southern League Championship Series.
