September 5, 2016

SOUTH BEND, IN - When Andrew T. Berlin, owner of the South Bend Cubs, took to the field between innings during the game between his team and the Dayton Dragons on Monday afternoon, it was to thank the fans who had just helped set a new historic record for all-time attendance at Four Winds Field.

The new regular season attendance record established on Monday is 350,803. The previous record, established in 2015, was 347,678. This makes 3 consecutive years that the team has set a new historic record for attendance.

Berlin also reminded fans that the South Bend Cubs have earned their place in the playoffs which begin this Thursday at Four Winds Field. 'No less than Tom Ricketts, Chairman of the Chicago Cubs will be in South Bend to throw out the first pitch and enjoy the game with everyone else, said Berlin. "So thank you for all your support in setting today's record, and we'll see you all Thursday!'

The South Bend Cubs won the final game of the regular season by beating the Dayton Dragons 3 to 0.
