Keys Post Top Attendance Mark in Advanced-A

Team Leads Three-League Circuit for Fifth Straight Year
September 12, 2016

FREDERICK, MD -For the fifth consecutive season, the Frederick Keys led the Carolina League and Advanced-A baseball in attendance. This year 314,443 fans attended a Keys game, while the team averaged 4,838 fans per game. The orange and black have welcomed 300,000 or more patrons to Nymeo Field in each of the last five years.

This year, the Keys were the only team in the Carolina, California or Florida State League to greet 300,000 or more through the turnstiles. A jam-packed promotional schedule can be thanked for this, with big crowds showing up to meet stars such as Shooter McGavin, Bradley Whitford and the Paw Patrol. Meanwhile, a myriad of fun giveaways and theme nights made the Keys one of Maryland's top entertainment options.

"We can't thank our fantastic fanbase enough for their support during the 2016 season," said Keys General Manager Dave Ziedelis. The Keys are fortunate to have some of the most loyal and passionate fans in Minor League Baseball and we look forward to making 2017 even more memorable."

More than eight million fans have attended a Keys game over the club's 28-year history. During this time, the club has eclipsed 300,000 fans in a season 15 times. This includes celebrities and dignitaries ranging from Pat Sajak to George H.W. Bush. From 1991-92, Bush attended two Keys games while vacationing at Camp David.

The Frederick Keys will announce their 2017 schedule at a later date. For news and information about the team and offseason news, fans can visit frederickkeys.com
