Grizzlies ready to play ball

Fireworks, giveaway items and special promotions scheduled

Fresno, Calif. -- The Fresno Grizzlies will open the 2007 home season with an eight-game homestand beginning Thursday, April 5 at 7:05pm, taking on the Portland Beavers for a four game set and closing out the homestand with four games against Tacoma.

Opening Night at Chukchansi Park, presented by RVs for Less, will kickoff a season long salute to the team's tenth season. Pre-game festivities include live music at all main gates, National Anthem performance by the Fresno State Marching Band with a fighter jet flyover, a super surprise entrance by Parker and much more. After the game, fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks extravaganza, the first of 13 shows this season.

The fireworks continue on Friday, April 6 as Bingham Toyota presents the first Friday Night Fireworks show of the 2007 season. Also on Friday, the first 1,000 fans will receive Grizzlies Rally Towels, presented by Rally's. The first 2,500 fans on Saturday night will receive a Chukchansi Park Snow Globe, presented by Chukchansi. Fans will also be treated to an Easter Eve Extravaganza on Saturday night, with an appearance by the Easter Bunny and huge post-game Easter egg hunt for all kids. Sunday's 2:05 pm game features a 2007 Magnet Schedule giveaway presented by Frazee Paint and 1550 AM Sporting News Radio, pregame Autograph Session with Grizzlies players presented by ABC 30, and Kids Run the Bases after the game presented by Del Taco.

The homestand continues with mid-week specials, beginning with the return of Monday Madness on April 9, presented by Wienerschnitzel. At every Monday home game, Grizzlies fans can purchase 2 Field Level Reserved tickets, 2 hot dogs and 2 sodas for just $14. Brand new for 2007 are Tecate Taco Tuesdays, presented by Tecate and 95.7 The Fox. $2 tacos will be served throughout each Tuesday home game and fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy $2 16 oz. Tecate beers served from the opening of gates through 7:35 pm.

Wednesday's home game will feature the Season Ten Special presented by The Fresno Bee. All kids (12 and under), seniors (55 and over), and military personnel (with valid ID) will be able to purchase Field Level Reserve tickets for only $1. Wednesday's game time is at 12:05 pm and marks the first of two "Making the Grade" day games, which will see thousands of Valley students and teachers rewarded for their efforts in the classroom. Back by popular demand, April 12 witnesses the return of Thirsty Thursdays, presented by 104.1 FM the Valley's Alternative Station. Fans can enjoy 12 oz. soft drinks and 12 oz. beers for only $1.
