Suns release 2007 promotional schedule
Two of the bobbleheads feature a continuation of the Suns successful "Scholastic Heroes" bobblehead series which began in 2005. On May 8th, James Buchanan Middle School will honor Mr. Rahauser. North Hagerstown High will pay tribute to Coach Greg Slick as the Suns give away 800 bobbleheads of Coach Slick on May 25th. Citi is once again sponsoring a patriotic bobblehead on July 4th as the Suns give out 1,000 bobbleheads of our very own lovable mascot Woolie. The highlight of the bobblehead promotion for most fans will occur on July 6th as Washington County's own Nora Roberts will be in attendance for a third consecutive year as the Suns honor Ms. Roberts with a bobblehead of the best-selling author.
Bring the family to dinner this Sunday, April 8th as the Suns prepare our Wolf Furniture Picnic Patio for Easter Dinner. For $12 per person fans can enjoy a Suns game and have ham, potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls and ballpark staples - peanuts, chips and soft drinks. There is no minimum group size, but space is limited. Following the game, all kids 12 & under are invited to participate in an on-field Easter Egg Hunt to try and find 1,000 eggs!
The wacky promotions that have gained the Suns national recognition in recent years will also continue. The first day of Shorebird Hunting Season is all set for April 27th as the Suns and intrastate rival Delmarva Shorebirds meet for the first time in 2007.
Instead of a having a "snow day", Suns General Manager Will Smith will personally sign a permission slip for adults to take a "Suns Day" and play hooky from work on Wednesday, May 2nd for the 12:05 p.m. start of "Happy Smiles Suns Day."
On Friday, May 11th the Suns will host "Donald vs. Rosie Night" at the ballpark. Fans will be able to cast their vote prior to the game for the celebrity they feel is superior to their rival. To vote fans will need to purchase a pink ribbon commemorating our breast cancer awareness weekend celebration. All the proceeds will go to a local breast cancer awareness organization.
The very next day the Suns will wear pink jerseys for the second consecutive year and fans will have a chance to bid on their favorite player's jersey in the "Shirt Off Our Backs" Jersey Auction. The same night will also feature "Everybody's A Winner Night!" There are no second place fans and the first 500 people will receive awards just for being a person. On Sunday, May 13th, the Suns are giving away baseball caps to the first 1,000 fans. The caps are also designed to help raise awareness of breast caner.
Other Suns promotions include:
