Knights Dayan Viciedo Named Player of the Month

Viciedo Named International League's Top Player for Month of May

FORT MILL, S.C. - Charlotte Knights outfielder Dayan Viciedo has been named the Topps International League Player-of-the-Month for the month of May.  The Player-of-the-Month award is voted on by the field managers of the International League.

In May, Viciedo hit .349 (38-109) with 6 home runs and 27 RBI.  He had 19 runs scored, 11 doubles and walked 9 times.  Viciedo hit safely in 22 of 28 games and had hitting streaks of 13 games (4/23 - 5/6) and 8 games (5/9-5/17).

Viciedo, 22, entered tonight's game vs. Lehigh Valley hitting .308 (66-214), 10 home runs and 40 RBI on the season.
