Kernels cancel Kirkwood scrimmage

Meet the Players Night moved inside to the Suite Level of the stadium

The scrimmage between Kirkwood Community College and the Cedar Rapids Kernels as part of the annual Meet the Players Night has been cancelled due to wet grounds and cold playing conditions.

In addition, the live music performance by Jeff Bruner on the Miller Mezzanine has also been cancelled.

However, fans can still meet and greet the 2007 Kernels, and enjoy a ballpark style meal complete with beverage, for only $10 as that segment of the program has been moved inside to the Suite Level at the stadium.

Fans should enter through the Diamond Suite entrance. The program runs from 5 p.m until 8 pm.

The Kernels open the 2007 MWL season on the road at Beloit on Thursday.

Opening Day at Veterans Memorial Stadium is Wed, April 11 as the Kernels take on the Burlington Bees at noon.
