Josh Schmidt Promoted to Triple A
Schmidt, a 15th round selection of the Yankees in 2005 out of the University of the Pacific, has appeared in 15 games for Trenton this year, compiling a 2-2 record with a 1.59 ERA. The righty began the year in Triple A where he went 2-1 with a 1.17 ERA in five games.
The Thunder will return home to Waterfront Park Friday to kick-start a six-game homestand. Game one of a three-game series with the Binghamton Mets begins at 7:05 PM. Trenton will turn to RHP Craig Heyer (5-3, 2.78), while the B-Mets will counter with RHP Bradley Holt (2-4, 3.67). Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR-FM and on trentonthunder.com.
