April 8, 2007
Jake Fox went 4-for-5 with two homers, five RBIs and four runs scored Saturday night as the Tennessee Smokies outslugged the Jacksonville Suns, 10-6, at The Baseball Grounds.

Fox, who went 0-for-4 in Thursday's season-opening win over the Suns before sitting out Friday's loss, doubled and scored in the first inning. He smacked an RBI double in the third and belted two-run homers in the sixth and eighth, both off B.J. LaMura (0-1).

Fox, a 24-year-old catcher, previously had a two-homer game on May 4, 2006, with Class A Advanced Daytona.

Josh Kroeger went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Gary Cates drove in a pair of runs for the Smokies (2-1), who pounded out 13 hits.

Paul Schappert (1-0) picked up the win in relief after allowing two runs on four hits with two strikeouts in four innings. Carmen Pignatiello got the final two outs for his first save.

Alberto Concepcion and John Lindsey homered for the Suns (1-2).
