The Reading Phillies are coming off their most successful homestand of the season. After winning five of their seven games, the R-Phils will hit the road looking to keep their winning ways alive.

After an off-day on Monday, Reading hits the road to face Bowie on Tuesday in the opening game of their three games series from Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, MD. Tuesday’s game will be the first between the R-Phils and Baysox this season, but last season, it was Reading who enjoyed success -- winning four of the six meetings.

With the back-to-back home series wins, the R-Phils improved to 17-16 at FirstEnergy Stadium this season and are now in third place in the Eastern League Eastern Division. The Baysox(32-31) are in second place behind the Harrisburg Senators in the Western Division. Bowie has won their last two games and seven of their last 10. They sit three games back of the ‘Sens.

Bowie RHP Steve Johnson (4-1, 1.93) gets the nod in game one of the three-game series. Johnson, a Maryland native, has won three of his last four starts and was sharp in May. The 23-year-old went 3-1 with a 2.31 ERA over six May starts. He has also been solid at home – posting a 2-0 record with a 1.33 ERA this season over four starts.
