Raúl Cano toma el mando Olmeca
Tras una evaluación a fondo efectuada por la directiva del club se tomó la decisión de llevar a cabo este ajuste, confiando ahora la responsabilidad en Cano, personaje con amplia experiencia en este tipo de encomiendas, manager triunfador tanto en verano como en invierno, conocedor a fondo de nuestra organización, tras ser el encargado de la Gerencia General, y que seguramente efectuará los ajustes necesarios para recomponer el camino en aras de mantener la expectativa de alcanzar grandes metas en la temporada 2011.
Este martes, en las oficinas del equipo, se efectuó una rueda de prensa, encabezada por el Presidente del Consejo de Administración, C.P. Roger Pérez Evoli, acompañado por el ahora nuevo estratega, para dar a conocer los pormenores respecto a este y otros movimientos que se han realizado en las últimas horas para encarar la parte final del calendario.
Raúl Cano es un personaje bien recordado y con paso exitoso en otras épocas de la franquicia, fue el primero en calificar a un club tabasqueño a los play offs, en 1979 al frente de los en aquel entonces Plataneros. Siempre se ha caracterizado por imprimir dinamismo y garra en la búsqueda de las victorias, de allí la decisión de que retorne a una de las áreas donde mayores logros ha obtenido en su paso por el mundo del beisbol profesional.
Por otra parte también se incorpora al equipo Vicente Palacios como nuevo coach de pitcheo, tomará el sitio de Vicente "Huevo" Romo. El nuevo responsable del cuerpo de serpentineros tiene una trayectoria sobresaliente, tanto como pelotero activo como entrenador, ante ello su aporte será fundamental en tan importante aspecto. Se le recuerda siendo un lanzador de ochos años en las Grandes Ligas con los equipos; Piratas de Pittsburgh, Cardenales de San Luis y Padres de San Diego.
La directiva agradece el profesionalismo mostrado durante el tiempo que laboraron en la organización, tanto a Derek Bryant como a Vicente Romo y les desea éxitos en sus futuros proyectos.

En tanto, la directiva de los Olmecas de Tabasco informa que han obtenido los servicios del pitcher derecho Miguel Duarte en un cambio definitivo con los Piratas de Campeche, para ello cedieron al también lanzador Francisco Villegas.
La nueva adquisición del conjunto tabasqueño tiene una experiencia de 15 años en el circuito veraniego, ha defendido las franelas de varias organizaciones, siempre como un relevista confiable y con la capacidad de sacar outs en momentos apremiantes.
Es oriundo de Navojoa y empezó su trayectoria profesional con los colores de los Saraperos de Saltillo, también formó parte de los Diablos Rojos del México, Guerreros de Oaxaca y Vaqueros Laguna. Duarte llega para ser una pieza más en el bullpen y su experiencia debe rendir los frutos esperados. Cuenta con efectividad global de 4.16 y está a punto de llegar a 600 episodios trabajados.
Por otra parte también, para fortalecer el cuadro, llega en calidad préstamo el resto de la temporada, proveniente de los Vaqueros Laguna, Edgar Garzón, versátil elemento que en los albores de su carrera fue prospecto de los Bravos de Atlanta.
Es un joven que tiene los atributos para colocarse en cualquier parte del infield, particularmente en la tercera base y las paradas cortas, aunado a buenas hechuras a la ofensiva. En la actual campaña conecta para .330, producto de 30 hits en 91 turnos, además de cuatro cuadrangulares y doce carreras producidas. La premisa de contar con un equipo aspirante a luchar por grandes cosas en el 2011 sigue firme de allí que la directiva continué efectuando los ajustes necesarios para ese fin.
