Decker Drives in Three & Missions Win 4-3
Missions outfielder Jaff Decker broke out of an 11-72 slump and paced the offense going 2-3 with two doubles and three RBI. He hit his first double in the opening inning to score Daniel Robertson putting San Antonio up 1-0. Decker would then score on a sacrifice fly by James Darnell.
The 'Hounds came back and took a 3-2 lead after scoring twice in the fourth and once more in the fifth. Decker would come through again, this time doubling home designated hitter Dean Anna and Robertson with the tying and go-ahead runs in the sixth inning. Missions closer Brad Brach retired Midland in the ninth to register his league-leading 18th save of the season.
For San Antonio it was their sixth straight victory, matching their season-long win streak as they improve to 46-19 overall and 28-5 at home.
Game two of the series is tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. and it's also a Score 4 Cash Night presented by McCombs Ford West. Fans have a chance to win money every inning the Missions score.
