Nashville Star contestant to sing anthem

Whitney Duncan comes to Pringles Park on Opening Day
April 12, 2007
JACKSON, Tenn. -- Native of Scotts Hill, Tenn., and former contestant on this season's Nashville Star, Whitney Duncan will be serenading the fans at Pringles Park with her popular rendition of the national anthem on Opening Day, April 16.

Duncan started off the CMA Music Festival with a bang when she performed her version of the national anthem. She later was invited to sing the anthem at the National Convention of State Legislators.

At the age of 14, Duncan and a group of young singers traveled to Paris to perform at Euro Disney and the Notre Dame Cathedral. It was only a year later that she was traveling back and forth to Nashville pursuing a singing career.

Singing is not her only talent, however. She found inspiration for songwriting at the age of 15. In Nashville, Duncan was able to work with and learn from some of the greatest contemporary songwriters.

Come out and see just how talented this young lady is on Opening Day, April 16 at 7:05 p.m. as she gets the season started with her special rendition of the national anthem.
