Entertainment Announced for All-Star Game
As previously announced, the All-Star festivities will kick off with a concert featuring Chris Isaak and Blues Traveler at Spring Mobile Ballpark on Saturday, July 9 at 7 p.m. MST. A fireworks show will follow immediately after the performances.
On Monday, July 11, the Bees will host the 2011 Papa John's All-Star Home Run Derby beginning at 7 p.m. The derby will showcase three Pacific Coast League and three International League All-Stars slugging it out along with Bonneville High School's Sam Hall and Spanish Fork High School's Kayden Porter. The derby will also include multiple performances by Nashville Star finalist and Roosevelt, Utah native Charley Jenkins. The Utah Orchestra will perform the national anthem, while the event will be concluded by the first of two fireworks extravaganzas.
The 24th annual Triple-A All-Star Game, presented by Zions Bank and Workers Compensation Fund, will take place on Wednesday, July 13 at 7 p.m. The event will showcase a national anthem performance by American Idol contestant and Sandy, Utah native Megan Joy. The award-winning Rockwell Airtime Skydiving Team will also make a grand entrance onto the field pregame.
In addition, Salt Lake City-based Daniel Day Trio will perform on the plaza pregame. During the seventh-inning stretch, God Bless America will be performed by Sergeant Drew Howells of the Utah Army National Guard while former Utah Jazz head coach Frank Layden will lead the crowd in the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." The game will be followed by the final fireworks extravaganza of the week, the largest ever at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
