Bobby Cox Statue Giveaway and Fireworks Headline Opening Homestand
DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves, rookie affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are set to open their home season on June 27, 2011 at American Legion Post 325 Field at Dan Daniel Memorial Park. The seven game homestand consists of two, three game sets with the Princeton Rays and Greeneville Astros. The D-Braves will finish the homestand with one game against the Burlington Royals on Sunday night, July 3rd.
The home season will kick off on Monday, June 27 with a 2011 Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by Centra and Farm Bureau. The first 1,000 fans at the ballpark will have a new decoration for their refrigerator. In addition, all Monday home games this season will be Dollar Dog Mondays presented by Kunzler. Fans can enjoy delicious ballpark hot dogs all night for $1 dollar each.
The Tuesday night game will be Sylvan Hit the Books Night. Come and join the D-Braves as they recognize local students who have hit the books. The celebration will take place on field. Sylvan Hit the Books Night is presented by the Sylvan Learning Center. Also, all season long Tuesday nights will be KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets. Family Night Wednesdays are back all season long! Bring the whole family out every Wednesday for this special deal. For $30 you get 4 Tickets, 4 hot dogs, and a souvenir program. A great night of family fun, at prices everyone will love! Aaron's Night presented by Aaron's is also on June 29. Aaron's will be giving away a limited amount of gift cards to fans walking in the gate.
On Thursday, June 30, the Danville Braves will be bring back Thirsty Thursday as well. All fans can receive discounted fountain beverages and all fans 21 and older can receive discounts on all drafted beverages. Friday, July 1, will be a big night. The first 750 fans to enter the gates of American Legion Post 325 Field will receive a Bobby Cox Statue Giveaway. Fans will get to go home with a statue that honors the legendary Atlanta Braves manager. The statues will be presented by Haymore Garden Center.
To round out the homestand is a BOGO Sundae Sunday which will take place on all Sunday home games in 2011. BOGO Sundae Sundays are presented by Dairy Queen, the first 1,000 fans will receive a coupon for buy one sundae, get a second one FREE. Also that night, to honor America and commemorate July 4th, the D-Braves will be shooting off FIREWORKS! July 3rd, is the first of two fireworks nights the Braves have in store for this season. The second fireworks night will be held on August 26.
All games during the first homestand will start at approximately 7:00 pm. The Danville Braves come home for the first time to Dan Daniel Memorial Park on June 27 when the Princeton Rays come to town.
