April 17, 2007
Harold Mozingo and Yovany D'Amico combined on a one-hitter as Burlington won its fifth straight with a 7-0 blanking of visiting Kane County on Monday.

Mozingo (1-1) surrendered one hit -- Jermaine Mitchell's second-inning single -- while striking out five without a walk over six innings. Opposing hitters are batting .132 with 13 strikeouts in 38 off the 22-year-old this year.

Kane County's only other baserunner came in the fifth, when Mozingo hit Jacob Smith. D'Amico tossed three perfect innings to earn the save.

The Bees (7-2) jumped out to an early lead when Marc Maddux ripped a three-run homer in the first. The 23-year-old third baseman is 10-for-30 with two home runs and nine RBIs through nine games.

Jase Turner added a two-run shot in the third and Chris McConnell added a pair of singles and an RBI as Burlington swept the three-game set against the Cougars (1-8).

Kane County starter John Herrera (0-1) yielded five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings.
