Lookouts Eclipse Suns, 10-2

June 24, 2011
The Lookouts slugged out four home runs, while Nathan Eovaldi pitched a gem of a game to lead the Lookouts to a 10-2 win over the Jacksonville Suns in Friday night action at AT&T Field.

With two quick outs already on the board in the first inning, Hector Gimenez hit a seemingly innocuous double. Kyle Russell then nailed a single off of Dallas Trahern (1-2) to plate the hustling Gimenez. Travis Denker followed with a deep double to right field to put the score at 2-0.

Gimenez came through with another big hit in the second inning. With the bases loaded, he blasted a homer over the center field wall to extend the Lookouts' lead, 6-0.

The big hits kept coming for the Lookouts. Pedroza hit a solo shot in the fifth inning, while Alfredo Silverio continued his red-hot ways by slugging a two-run homer in the sixth frame.

Kyle Russell hit yet another home run for the Lookouts in the bottom of the seventh to extend the Lookouts' lead to 10-0.

Lost amidst all the offense, Lookouts starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (6-4) pitched a brilliant game on the mound for the Lookouts. In seven shutout innings, he scattered just three hits and a walk, while striking out five to earn the win. The Suns were able to avoid being shut out by scoring two runs in the ninth to put the score at its final resting place, 10-2.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Jacksonville Suns will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M. tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
