Senators' Brad Peacock Selected to Futures Game

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators are pleased to announce that RHP Brad Peacock has been selected to represent the Washington Nationals at the 2011 XM All-Star Futures Game. Senators' manager, Tony Beasley, has been named to the coaching staff and will join Peacock in Arizona on the U.S. team. Peacock is the 11th Senator to play in the Futures Game since the game's inception in 1999. He joins Peter Bergeron (1999); Brad Wilkerson (2000); Josh Karp (2002); Brandon Phillips (2002), Seung Song (2002, 2003); Shawn Hill (2003); Saloman Manriquez (2006); Collin Balester (2007); Shairon Martis (2008); and Danny Espinosa (2010) as players who have represented Harrisburg in the minor league exhibition game.

Peacock enters Friday's action with a team-leading 8-2 record. He has a 2.46 ERA and is currently second in all of the minor leagues in strikeouts with 108. He is also tied for second in the minor leagues with eight wins. Peacock's last start was a complete game win against the Altoona Curve. He has earned Eastern League Pitcher of the Week twice this season for his efforts.

Beasley is in his first season as the Senator's skipper. He has led the team to a 40-31 record this season and a first place lead in the Western Division by 3.5 games. Last season, Beasley served on the Pittsburgh Pirates coaching staff, and previously managed in the Pirates organization, leading all five of his teams to the postseason. This is Beasley's second selection to the Futures Game. He was a coach for the U.S. Team in the 2004 game in Houston.

The 2011 XM All-Star Futures Game will take place on Sunday, July 10th at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ.

On game days, the Metro Bank Park box office is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until the end of the game, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the game. Box office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours.
