Rangers & Wood Ducks Managers Headline Hot Stove Banquet

Tickets on sale now for January 11th event

Kinston, North Carolina-The 2017 Wood Ducks Hot Stove Banquet will take place on Wednesday, January 11 at Kings BBQ in Kinston. Details of the event were announced today. 
 
Tickets for the dinner, which will feature Rangers Manager Jeff Banister and Wood Ducks Manager Howard Johnson, are on sale now. Quantities are limited, and the event is expected to sell out. Fans are encouraged to get their tickets soon to guarantee a seat at the event. 
 
"We are looking forward to kicking off 2017 with the inaugural Hot Stove Banquet. It is exciting to have Rangers Manager Jeff Banister join us," Wood Ducks General Manager Wade Howell said. "We also can't think of a better way to introduce Wood Ducks Manager Howard Johnson to the Down East community." 
 
Both Banister and Johnson will talk about the inaugural Wood Ducks' season, as well as the upcoming Rangers campaign. 
 
Johnson enters his second season in the Rangers organization after managing the Mavericks to the California League Championship in 2016. The new Wood Ducks skipper was named the California League Manager of the Year for his role in the Mavericks' success last season.  
 
Banister led the Rangers to back-to-back American League West titles in 2015 and 2016. He also earned the American League Manager of the Year honors in 2015, his first year managing the big league club. Tickets for the Hot Stove Banquet are $30 each and can be purchased by stopping by the Wood Ducks offices at Grainger Stadium or contacting Janell Bullock at (252) 686-5172. 
 
Kings BBQ is located at 405 East New Bern Road in Kinston. The event will begin with a social hour and silent auction at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and programming beginning at 7:00 p.m.
