Miles To Acquire Dust Devils Ownership Interest

President/GM Brent Miles Joins George Brett as Owner; Gives Team Local Ownership Presence
April 18, 2007
The Tri-City Dust Devils announced today that President/General Manager Brent Miles has acquired a minority ownership interest in the team.

Miles has served as the Dust Devils' President since October of 2004, and added the General Manager role in October of 2006. Under his guidance, the Dust Devils have increased attendance by 25% since the 2004 season and experienced the first four sellouts in the team's six year history. He has also overseen numerous improvements to Dust Devils Stadium and been an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Greater Pasco Area Chamber of Commerce.

"Becoming an owner of a professional baseball team is a real thrill for me." said Miles. "And, to be an owner with the Dust Devils where we have a great full-time staff, wonderful fans and sponsors, and such strong working relationships with our landlord, the City of Pasco, and our Major League affiliate, the Colorado Rockies, makes it even more special."

George Brett, who had been the Dust Devils' sole owner, remains the majority owner of the Dust Devils. The Hall of Fame third baseman, currently serving as the Vice President - Baseball Operations of the Kansas City Royals, has been involved with the ownership and operation of Minor League Baseball teams for over 20 years.

"I am proud to have Brent as a co-owner," said Brett. "Brent operates with the best interests of the Dust Devils and the Tri-City community in mind, which makes him an ideal person to be the local face of our ownership group."

Prior to joining the Dust Devils, Miles spent one season as the General Manager of the El Paso Diablos of the Texas League (Double-A), two seasons as General Manager of the High Desert Mavericks of the Single-A California League (Single-A), and seven seasons in various roles with the Spokane Indians of the Northwest League.

The transaction will be complete upon approval of the Northwest League, Minor League Baseball, and Major League Baseball, which is expected shortly.

The Dust Devils will open the 2007 season at Vancouver on June 19 before returning for their home opener June 24 versus the Everett AquaSox. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are on sale now and start at just $30. Tickets can be ordered by phone at (509) 544-8789, online at www.dustdevilsbaseball.com, or at the stadium box office.
