BlueClaws Win 3rd Straight Over Delmarva

The Lakewood BlueClaws won their 3rd consecutive game with a 3-2 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds on Sunday afternoon. The win gave Lakewood a 3-1 series win in the 4 game set with Delmarva, and continues a successful start to the Second Half for the BlueClaws.

Starting Pitching continues to be a strength for Lakewood as LHP Ervis Manzanillo tossed 5 innings of 2 run, 6 hit baseball. In the 4 game series, Lakewood Starting Pitching allowed just 5 earned runs over 23 innings. Colby Shreve, Lendy Castillo, and Juan Sosa combined to throw shutout ball for the final 4 innings Sunday. Sosa collected his 9th save of the season.

Cameron Rupp and Miguel Alvarez each had 2 hits in the game for Lakewood, and they scored the 2nd and 3rd runs of the game. They scored the 2nd and 3rd runs of the game on an error by the 2B Michael Rooney. Jim Murphy drove in Carlos Perdomo with a Sac Fly to CF in the 1st inning for the first run of the game.

The BlueClaws hit the road to head to Hagerstown, MD for a 4 game series against the Hagerstown Suns. Monday is the first game and it features a pitching matchup of Lakewood RHP David Buchanan (8-4, 3.21 ERA) and Hagerstown RHP AJ Cole (1-4, 3.38 ERA). First Pitch on Monday is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
