Moore, Fleming Silence Generals
Andrew Carraway (5-1) suffered his first loss of the season giving up five runs in four innings Sunday. Moore, who allowed four runs in the first inning during the All-Star Game Tuesday held the Generals scoreless over the first five innings to earn the win.
Daniel Mayora used the heavy winds at the start of the game Sunday night to double off the right field wall scoring Shawn O'Malley and Cole Figuaroa. The Biscuits led 2-0.
With one out in the top of the second inning the game was delayed due to severe lightning, but no rain fell. After a 29 minute delay, play resumed in the second inning.
Montgomery extended their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single from Steven Vogt. The Biscuits began to put the game away, getting a 2-run homerun in the fourth from Matt Sweeney. That homer made the score 5-0.
The lead for the Biscuits was pushed to 7-0 with two more runs coming across in the bottom of the sixth inning on RBI singles from Shawn O'Malley and John Shelby III.
The Biscuits and Generals finish off the five-game series Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium, with first pitch set for 7:05.The pitching matchup features a pair of All-Star right handers. RHP Erasmo Ramirez (6-4, 5.03) takes the mound for the Generals against RHP Chris Archer (3-3, 5.27) for Montgomery.
