Hawks celebrate 4th of July at home

BOISE, ID-The Boise Hawks will begin their second homestand of the season this Monday, July 4, against the Yakima Bears. The Hawks and their fans can celebrate their Fourth of July with an evening of baseball and fireworks to follow. That game will have a special 7:35 pm start. The homestand will consist of two series, the first a three-game set with the Bears (4-8), followed by five games against the Everett AquaSox (3-9). The Hawks (8-4) are in sole possession of first place in the East and have won seven of their last eight games.

The Fourth of July at Memorial Stadium will feature the BIGGEST fireworks show of the season. Pepsi and KBOI will be sponsoring ALS Awareness Night at the ballpark on the Fourth as well, with a pre-game picnic in the Hawks' Nest. The Hawks will also be handing out a limited number of replica away jersey t-shirts, courtesy of Pepsi.

Look for promotions nearly every day of the Hawks' eight-game homestand. Tuesday, July 5 will be the Hawks' first Library Reading Night, sponsored by KeyBank, where fans can use vouchers from the local library in exchange for two reserve seats. A Hawks player will also read a book to fans in the Kids' Park at 6:50 p.m. Fans can also get a free ticket by purchasing a ticket and bringing a KRAFT Singles wrapper to the ballpark Tuesday. July 7 and 10 are 4 for $34 Nights at Memorial Stadium, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four Pepsi products for just $34. Thursday, July 7, is also Harry Potter and half-price beverage night, where fans can get Humphrey Potter bobbleheads, courtesy of AAA Idaho. Fans can enjoy post-game fireworks on Latino Night, Friday, July 8. The SweetRight Brothers Mascot Act will be making their first appearance of the season this Saturday.

Boise will look to increase their two game lead in the East tonight, after a 3-2 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils (6-6) last night. RF Reggie Golden hit his first homerun with the Hawks in that affair, to seal the victory. Jin-Young Kim will toe the rubber tonight in the Tri-Cities, trying to make it six straight wins for the first-place Hawks.
