Attendance at Fifth Third Field passes the 5,300,000 mark!

The Toledo Mud Hens and Fifth Third Bank are pleased to announce that the overall attendance in the history of Fifth Third Field surpassed 5,300,000 on Friday, July 1 in a game versus the Columbus Clippers. On Saturday, July 2, the team celebrated this tremendous milestone.

The Christian family of Chelsea, MI was presented with some fabulous gifts from the Mud Hens and Fifth Third Bank and threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. They were randomly selected to represent the fans for the milestone.

With the obvious numerical tie-in, Fifth Third Bank rolled out the red carpet for the fans as well. Guests (18 and older) were offered a chance to enter a cash cube on the main concourse throughout the game to grab as much fake currency as they could collect in 30 seconds. After the 5th inning, Lindsay Jeremy of Grand Canyon, AZ had collected the most money and was awarded $186.00.

After the game, the Christian family returned to the field to enter the cash cube. They were offered a chance to enter the cube for 53 seconds to gather as much cash as they could. They walked away with $427.00.

Since it opened on April 9, 2002, Fifth Third Field has hosted 674 regular season games and 5,301,897 have enjoyed Toledo Mud Hens baseball in downtown Toledo.
