Bisons Record 14 Hits, Beat Yankees 7-5
Warren (5IP, 9H, 3R, 3ER, 3K) would breeze through Buffalo in the first, allowing one hit which was erased when Michael Fisher was caught stealing as Nick Evans struck out to end the inning. Schwinden wouldn't be so lucky in the first, with Brandon Laird striking a two-RBI double to center field that drove in Chris Dickerson and Greg Golson. Laird gave the Yankees a 2-0 lead, but it would be short lived.
The second inning brought problems for Adam Warren. He got the first batter of the inning, but then gave up five straight singles which yielded three runs for the Bisons. Jesus Feliciano collected his first of two hits and two RBI for the night in this inning, as Feliciano would finish 2-4, with two RBI, and two runs scored. Schwinden sat the Yankees down in order in the bottom of the second.
While the top of the third was a quiet one for Buffalo, the Yankees tacked on two runs, taking back the lead. The runs came off of a Brandon Laird single, and a Gustavo Molina RBI single. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre would hold on to that lead until the sixth inning, when George Kontos would enter the game. The Bisons were able to send eight batters to the plate, scoring three runs. Two of those runs came from back-to-back home runs by Zach Lutz and Jesus Feliciano to lead off the Inning. Nick Evans would drive in the third run on a single to center.
The Yankees would respond with a home run of their own in the seventh, off the bat of Greg Golson. Golson's solo home run would be the only run the Yankee's would score for the rest of the game. The Bisons would get that run back in the eighth, as Michael Fisher would record his second hit of the game, which drove in Luis Figueroa. All-in-all the Bisons would collect seven runs on 14 hits, while the Yankees would score five runs on eight hits.
Chris Schwinden would get the win, as he moves to 6-3 on the season. Reliever Dale Thayer would record his seventh save of the season, as he pitched 2.1 innings striking out three. Adam Warren received a no decision in this game, as George Kontos was tagged with the loss which is his first of the season.
