SALT LAKE CITY - The Pacific Coast League announced today that Salt Lake Bees infielder Jeff Baisley has been selected as one of six Triple-A All-Star representatives to participate in the 2011 Triple-A Home Run Derby, presented by Papa John's. The Home Run Derby will take place on Monday, July 11 at Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City at 7 p.m. MT.

Baisley, 28, has appeared in 80 games for the Bees in 2011, hitting .321 with a team-high 102 hits, 17 doubles and 64 RBI. He also leads the team with 17 home runs. Twelve of those 17 home runs were hit in the confines of Spring Mobile Ballpark. Baisley set a career-high 22 home runs while with Kane County in the Midwest League in 2006.

In 2010, Baisley hit .274 with 14 doubles, six home runs and 32 RBI in 49 games with Triple-A Sacramento. He made his major league debut with the Oakland Athletics on September 9, 2008 at Detroit. The Tampa, Fla. native was originally selected by Oakland in the 12th round of the 2005 draft. He joined the Angels organization via free agency during the 2010 offseason.

Baisley was also added to the 2011 Pacific Coast League All-Star Team, marking his third career All-Star selection and the first at the Triple-A level in his seven-year professional playing career. He becomes the first Bees players to participate in the Derby since outfielder Terry Evans did so in 2009.
