River Cats hiring for Group Events Account Executive

The Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's, are concluding our 11th season. During each of the last 10n seasons, we have ranked No. 1 in Pacific Coast League attendance. This past season, more than 800,000 people attended events at Raley Field. Raley Field has been the toast of the region since its debut in May of 2000. With a seating capacity of 14,014, it features 36 luxury suites, 2,500 club seats, a stadium club, multiple group party areas, children's playground, a giant HD LED video board and an impressive audio/visual production center.

In addition to our attendance records, we won back-to-back Pacific Coast League Championships twice (2003 and 2004, 2007 and 2008), played host to the 2005 Triple-A All-Star Game, and continue to send many players on to the Major Leagues including 2004 and 2005 American League Rookies of the Year Bobby Crosby and Huston Street.

Job Title: Group Sales, Account Executive

Reports To: Director of Ticket Sales
FLSA Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Group Events Account Executive will sell group tickets, BBQ picnics and nightly corporate suites to local business and non-profit organizations including, but not limited to, schools, youth sports leagues, and local associations while working with our existing sales team to fulfill its goals of maximizing ticket sales revenue and providing outstanding service to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess the initiative to continuously prospect for new customers and create unique group days for our customers. Other duties include prospect needs assessment, customer presentations by phone and in person, order placement and fulfillment, in game servicing of group patrons, seat visits and various other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Be responsible for sales of Sacramento River Cats and Raley Field ticket inventory, including but not limited to non-business group outings, Theme Nights, Nightly Hospitality Areas.
  • Work with the sales staff to generate new leads and research new and creative ways to sell tickets.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.
  • Leadership and oversight of in-game group events.
  • Professionally represent the organization at business and community functions.
  • Work as a member of the TEAM, and Have Fun!

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Sales experience is required, B2B sales experience desired. Strong background in customer service is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills a must.
  • Superior organizational habits and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Ticketmaster are crucial for this position. The ticketing system can be learned during training by the candidate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
