David Wright scheduled for rehab appearance with St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie, Fla. - New York Mets third baseman, David Wright, is scheduled to make his first rehab appearance with the St. Lucie Mets Friday night in Lakeland as the Mets face the Flying Tigers. Wright is then expected to remain with St. Lucie as they return to Digital Domain Park on Sunday for their upcoming series with the Clearwater Threshers. The St. Lucie Mets host the Clearwater Threshers Sunday at Digital Domain Park. Game time is 4:00PM and the gates open at 3:00PM.

Wright has been sidelined since May 15th with a stress fracture in his lower back. The five-time National League All-Star is a career .302 hitter. He is one of only three players to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in the same season as a Met. Wright holds the Mets all-time record for career doubles and is in the top-5 in 13 different offensive categories including hits, home runs, RBI and runs scored. This is only the second DL stint of Wright's 8-year Major League career.
