The Phillie Phanatic Comes to Reading on August 3

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Phillies will continue their exciting series with Bryce Harper and the Harrisburg Senators on Wednesday, August 3rd, and face-off in a 7:05 p.m. contest for game two of their three-game series.

Fans will want to make their way out to America's Classic Ballpark early, as VIST Financial Plaza gates will open at 5:00 pm and the night will be loaded with fun. From 5:00-6:00 p.m., fans 21-years-old and older can enjoy Happy Hour with $1.00 off all beers, thanks to Miller Lite.

Pangea Acoustic will take the Weston Center Winning Smiles Stage for a thrilling pre-game performance (5:00 – 6:00 p.m.). Redner’s R-Phils Kids Club members can also enjoy the Kids Happy Half Hour from 5:00-5:30 pm with free Phunland games.

Everyone’s favorite mascot -- the Phillie Phanatic, will be on-hand for a great night at the ballpark. First, the R-Phils are set pay a special Tribute to the Phanatic, thanks to Comcast SportsNet. In order to help us celebrate the beloved mascot, the Phillie Phanatic will make his second and final appearance of the year at FirstEnergy Stadium, courtesy of Pace Institute. Philadelphia’s favorite mascot will travel throughout the stadium entertaining fans all evening long.

Also on Wednesday, fans can enjoy the first-ever Baseball Poetry Contest at FirstEnergy Stadium. Along with Berks Bards, the Reading Phillies have created this contest for poets and writers within Berks County, to help celebrate the sport of baseball. Fans were asked to submit their poems by July 27, and the winners have been invited to read their poem before Wednesday's game in front of the Reading Phillies crowd.
