Potomac Nationals to honor fallen firefighter

Moment of silence and funds to be raised at Saturday night game
April 20, 2007
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - The Potomac Nationals have announced that they will honor fallen Prince William County firefighter Kyle Wilson prior to and during their game with the Frederick Keys this Saturday night, April 21st at 7:05 p.m.

A moment of silence will be observed prior to the start of the game to honor the 24-year-old, who was killed in the line of duty while responding to a house fire early Monday morning in Woodbridge, Va. In addition, during each Saturday night game, the Nationals hold a "Tennis Ball Toss" in which participants purchase tennis balls and try and throw them from the stands into hoops set up on the field in an attempt to win a wide variety of prizes. All of the proceeds from the "Tennis Ball Toss" on Saturday night will be donated to the Kyle Wilson Fund.

Wilson was in his first year of membership with the O.W.L. volunteer fire department. The Potomac Nationals and O.W.L. VFD have been longtime partners and many of its members have attended games at Pftizner Stadium as part of several group outings throughout the course of each season.

For more information, please call (703) 590-2311 or visit www.potomacnationals.com. If you would like to make a direct donation to the Kyle Wilson Fund, please send it to the Prince William Professional Fire Fighters, 5521 Mapledale Plaza, Dale City, VA 22193. All funds will be used to assist the Wilson family.
