James Darnell Called Up by San Diego Padres
The San Diego Padres have purchased the contract of INF James Darnell. The Padres second round draft choice in 2008 played in 26 games for Tucson, hitting .272 with six home runs and 13 RBIs.
Darnell will become the seventh Tucson Padres player to make his Major League debut with San Diego this season, joining Logan Forsythe, Cedric Hunter, Luis Martinez, Anthony Bass, Evan Scribner and Anthony Rizzo.
