Manchester, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A
affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announce the 2012 home
schedule at
Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Opening
Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 12, at 6:35 p.m. versus the New
Britain
Rock Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
The 2012 season will consist of 71 home homes
including 15 games versus the future Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs,
and 29
postgame Atlas Fireworks shows.
The
Sea
Dogs' 15 visits to Manchester
in 2012 are the most scheduled for any Fisher Cats' opponent, with the
first
series between the Eastern Division rivals set for Monday, May 21
through Thursday,
May 24. The Trenton
Thunder, Double-A
affiliate of the New York Yankees, will travel to the Granite
State
six times throughout the course of the season.
New
Hampshire
will host their remaining Eastern Division foes the New Britain Rock
Cats
(Minnesota Twins) for 14 games, the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) for
10
games and the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) for seven games.
The
Western
Division will send the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) to
the Queen
City to play a four-game series against the Fisher Cats while the
Altoona Curve
(Pittsburgh Pirates), Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles), Richmond Flying
Squirrels (San Francisco Giants), Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) and
Erie
SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers) will each play a single three-game series at
Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Fisher
Cats
weeknight games will begin at 6:35 p.m. in April and early May until
Friday,
May 18, when they will become 7:05 p.m. start times for the remainder
of the
season. Saturday
games will be played at
1:35 p.m. until Saturday, May 19, when they will begin at the
traditional 7:05
p.m. start time. Sunday
games will begin
at 1:35 p.m. throughout the season, except for Sunday, July 8 at 6:35
p.m.
Special
start times to consider include when the Fisher Cats host Kids Opening Day on Friday, April 13 at
10:35 a.m. versus the New
Britain Rock Cats. There
will also be
two Educational Days on Thursday,
May 3 and Thursday, May 31 at 10:35 a.m.
On Sunday, July 8, the Fisher Cats will host the New
Britain Rock Cats
for a 6:35 p.m. evening game. Fisher
Cats Camp Days/Splash Days have
been
scheduled for Monday, July 9 and Wednesday, August 1 with 12:05 p.m.
start
times.
Other dates
to note are five Fisher Cats/CCSNH
Reading Challenge games on Sunday, April 15 and 29 at 1:35
p.m.; Monday,
May 21 at 7:05 p.m.; and Tuesday June 5 and 19 at 7:05 p.m. The Fisher Cats/CCSNH
Reading Challenge reached
a record 50,000 students from over 145 schools in 2010. Five schools achieved a
100-percent completion
rate by their students, each earning a $1,000 prize donated by the
Fisher Cats
Foundation.
