The 6'4", 195 lb. southpaw made two appearances for the SeaWolves last week and had a record of 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 12 innings pitched.
Voss, who is a native of Breese, Illinois, made his first start of the week in the opening game of a doubleheader against Trenton on Tuesday night at Jerry Uht Park. He struck out five batters and walked one while pitching a three-hit shutout to earn the win as Erie blanked Trenton 6-0.
In his second appearance of the week on Sunday afternoon at Harrisburg the 24-year old recorded eight strikeouts and allowed just two hits over five shutout innings to improve his record to 9-7 on the season in Erie's 5-1 victory.
Voss was the only pitcher in the Eastern League to pitch a shutout last week and he also tied for first in the league in wins (2), ERA (0.00), WHIP (0.50) and complete games (1) and tied for third in strikeouts (13) and innings pitched (12.0).
Jay was acquired by the Detroit Tigers in a trade with the Florida Marlins for Nate Robertson on March 30, 2010.
He was originally selected by the Marlins in the eighth round of the 2007 draft out of Kaskaskia Junior College.
