Maust named Eastern League's best

David Maust, a left-handed pitcher for the Harrisburg Senators, is the Eastern League's Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 28th.

In a pair of starts last week, the 26-year old was 1-0 with 17 strikeouts and a 1.20 ERA. In his first start of the week Maust, a native of Morgantown, West Virginia, gave up two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters in a no-decision against Binghamton at NYSEG Stadium.

The 26-year old was more impressive in his second appearance of the week, surrendering one unearned run on four hits while recording seven strikeouts to earn a complete game victory against Erie at Commerce Bank Park. Maust, who has a 2.13 ERA in 25 games for the Senators this season, was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 17th round of the June 2001 draft out of West Virginia University.
