Zephyrs and City of NO Give Equipment to Taylor Park

Donation one part of $20,000 In Equipment Donated by Mets
May 6, 2007
The New Orleans Zephyrs and the City of New Orleans held a baseball clinic for kids at Taylor Park Saturday morning, where the kids received equipment donated by the New York Mets.

The donation to Taylor Park is part of a $20,000 donation of equipment by the Mets to playgrounds in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes.

The clinic was run by Zephyrs Executive Director & Coo Ron Maestri, Zephyrs pitching coach Mark Brewer and New Orleans Councilman At Large Arnie Fielkow.

In February members of the New York Mets visited New Orleans to present the $20,000 check to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, who along with the Zephyrs have purchased baseball equipment and distributed it to various playgrounds around the city.

The Mets are the new big league affiliate of the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs.
