Shealy plates seven for 51s again
It worked out better Sunday, as he again delivered seven RBIs to lead the 51s over the host Bees, 10-4.
Adam Loewen walked, stole second and scored on Shealy's liner to left field in the first inning. He struck out swinging to end the third.
In the fifth, Adeiny Hechavarria and David Cooper hit back-to-back singles. Loewen walked, and with two outs, Shealy cranked his 10th homer of the season to left field.
Cooper singled to open the seventh. After Jayson Nix walked and Loewen singled, Shealy followed with a two-run line-drive single to right. He grounded out to third base in the ninth.
The 51s designated hitter smacked a grand slam and drove in seven in the 51s' 10-9 loss to the Bees on July 4.
Shealy, who turns 32 on Monday, also plated seven on a two-homer night when he was with Triple-A Colorado Springs in the Sky Sox's 12-8 win over the Fresno Grizzlies on June 9, 2006.
He is batting .281 with 51 RBIs and 34 runs over 54 games this season.
The University of Florida product was drafted in the 11th round in 2002 by the Rockies. Shealy also played in the Royals, Rays and Red Sox organizations before joining the Blue Jays last year. He's batted .268 in 169 games over five seasons in the Majors.
Hechavarria, the Jays' No. 8 prospect. delivered a two-run homer and scored twice for the 51s.
P.J. Walters (8-7) allowed four runs on seven hits over 5 1/2 innings to pick up the win.
