CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE; BANDITS OPEN NEW SKY DECK LOUNGE
Designed to be a 365-days-a-year space, the Sky Deck Lounge is glass-enclosed on three sides and offers unmatched views of the Davenport City skyline on one side and the ballpark, the Mississippi River and the iconic Centennial Bridge on the other. Local architect Greg Gowey of SGGM Architects in Davenport outfitted the space with glass garage doors that will open up to allow a free-flowing breeze on beautiful summer evenings but remain closed during the cold winter months or on hot, muggy summer afternoons. The climate-controlled space features both heating and air-conditioning to allow for year-'round usage.
"The City of Davenport has been a great partner, working with us to provide regular improvements to Modern Woodmen Park and ensuring it remains one of the finest facilities in all of Minor League Baseball," said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. "Our fans are really going to enjoy the change to this popular area. With stunning views of downtown, the field and the river and its own exclusive picnic menu, it's a great space not just to enjoy a baseball game but for weddings, family gatherings, receptions, corporate board meetings...anything where people get together. There's no other place in the entire region with such spectacular views of downtown and the river!"
The area is now entirely enclosed with glass garage doors that can open to make the space an open-air party area. This feature makes the Sky Deck much more versatile for all types of entertaining. The new improvement allows for parties, receptions and other events to continue as planned regardless of the outside conditions making it functional on a year-round basis. The Sky Deck renovation was designed by Greg Gowey of SGGM Architects and Estes Construction of Davenport provided construction management for the project.
"The City's investment in Modern Woodman Park is returned tenfold to the people of Davenport: we are recognized nationally for having one of the best minor league ballparks today, completely modernized and outfitted with all kinds of amenities for the entire family to enjoy," said Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba.
The Sky Deck is now available for reservation by groups of 25 or more. Pricing for the Sky Deck starts as low as $26 per person, including a game ticket. Menu items for the area range from hamburgers and hot dogs all the way up to succulent prime rib all prepared to perfection.

ABOUT THE BANDITS: After three years of ballpark improvements, the River Bandits and the City of Davenport are unveiling some of the most impressive enhancements to Modern Woodmen Park yet. A brand new, state of the art, high definition 20' x 35' video board went live on June 7 and work continues on a new enclosure for the Sky Deck on the suite level of Modern Woodmen Park. Those improvements, in addition to new flood protection, a new front plaza, and a new parking lot directly across the street from the ballpark, are quickly making Modern Woodmen Park one of the premier facilities in all of Minor League Baseball.
