Aldridge's blast boosts Barons

Cory Aldridge belted a two-out, three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning as Birmingham beat Jacksonville, 6-3, on Monday.

Christopher Getz and Ricardo Nanita walked before Aldridge connected for his second homer of the year, snapping a 3-3 tie. The 27-year-old outfielder was mired in a 5-for-33 slump before his big hit.

Jason Bourgeois went 4-for-4 with an RBI double in the first and Nanita ripped a two-run homer in the fifth for the Barons (16-15).

Reliever Oneli Perez (1-1) gave up one hit in 1 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Chin Lung Hu continued his hot hitting for the Suns (17-14), going 3-for-4 with his Minor League-leading 16th double and an RBI. Hu paces the Southern League with a .383 average.

Juan Gonzalez delivered a game-tying two-run single in the eighth for Jacksonville.
