Playoff Tie-Breaker Scenario Announced

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs remain in a tight race for the Wild Card berth in the Governors' Cup Playoffs with just one game remaining in the regular season. Below is a description of the two scenarios that currently exist along with other relevant information for fans holding individual playoff tickets or playoff packs for the 2011 post-season.

SCENARIO #1: In the event that the IronPigs finished tied with the Gwinnett Braves for the Wild Card at the end of the regular season, the IronPigs will host a one-game tie-breaker on Tuesday, September 6, at 7:05 p.m. and "Game A" playoff tickets are necessary to attend this game. If the IronPigs win the one-game playoff, the following playoff tickets will be honored on the dates listed below:

Round One: International League Divisional Series

  • Game B: Wednesday, September 7 at 7:05 p.m.
  • Game C: Thursday, September 8 at 7:05 p.m.
Round Two: International League Championship Series (Governors' Cup)
  • Game D: Thursday, September 15 at 7:05 p.m.
  • Game E: Friday, September 16 at 7:05 p.m. (if necessary)
  • Game F: Saturday, September 17 at 6:35 p.m. (if necessary)
SCENARIO #2: In the event that the IronPigs win the Wild Card outright, the following playoff tickets will be honored on the dates listed below:

Round One: International League Divisional Series

  • Game A: Wednesday, September 7 at 7:05 p.m.
  • Game B: Thursday, September 8 at 7:05 p.m.
Round Two: International League Championship Series (Governors' Cup)
  • Game D: Thursday, September 15 at 7:05 p.m.
  • Game E: Friday, September 16 at 7:05 p.m. (if necessary)
  • Game F: Saturday, September 17 at 6:35 p.m. (if necessary)
Given that there is one game left and the best that the Gwinnett Braves will be able to manage is a tie in the standings, the IronPigs are ensured of at least one more home game at Coca-Cola Park. The ticket office will open at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday for playoff ticket purchases.

If you are a member of a group attending a playoff outing in either the U.S. Lawns Dugout Suites, PenTeleData Party Porches, PPL Picnic Patio or IronPigs Team Suite, please contact your group leader to confirm your playoff date and game.

Individual playoff tickets and group packages are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (610) 841-PIGS or by visiting the Coca-Cola Park ticket office during normal business hour.

During all IronPigs home playoff games, all fans are encouraged to wear red and help the IronPigs "Bring Home the Bacon".

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are dedicated to providing family-friendly entertainment and are the only Minor League team to offer bubbles to fans entering the AT&T Plaza and balloons for all children exiting Coca-Cola Park.
