Blake Shelton to perform after O-Royals game

May 10, 2007
OMAHA, Neb. -- Popular country music artist Blake Shelton will be performing in concert following the Omaha Royals game at Rosenblatt Stadium on Friday, July 20.

The Royals take on the Memphis Redbirds in a 7:05 p.m. game, followed by a fireworks display and then the concert. The event is being presented by Werner Enterprises and KAT 103 FM, who brought Royals fans a post-game concert by Sawyer Brown last July.

Shelton's fourth studio album, entitled Pure BS and just released on May 1, features the hit single "Don't Make Me" along with 10 other songs. For the week of May 8, "Don't Make Me" was the No. 15 Country Single on America's Music Charts.

"Werner Enterprises is proud to be the presenting sponsor for the Omaha Royals this year," said Fred Thayer, Werner Enterprises' Director of Corporate Communications. "We are excited Blake Shelton will perform for us and look forward to sharing this event with the Royals' fan base. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy an evening of baseball, fireworks and Blake Shelton. This night is guaranteed to be 'Fun for Everyone'."

Shelton was just 21-years-old in 1997 when his debut single, "Austin," stayed at No. 1 on Billboard's singles chart for five weeks, tying Billy Ray Cyrus' record for a debut single. Shelton also reached No. 1 for three weeks in 2003 with his single "The Baby."

In 2004, he released the studio album Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill, which included the hits "Some Beach," "Goodbye Time" and "Nobody But Me."

Tickets for the game, fireworks and post-game concert are $13 for Field Box seats, $11 for Reserved seats and $9 for General Admission. They may be purchased in person at the Royals ticket office at Rosenblatt Stadium, online at www.Oroyals.com and www.etix.com or by calling (402) 738-5100.
