Frisco edges Midland 4-3

Bianucci stays hot, drives in two
September 4, 2011

The RoughRiders notched their fifth win in a row Sunday night from Dr Pepper Ballpark with a 4-3 victory over the Midland RockHounds.

The RockHounds scored a run in the first two innings on Mike Spina's RBI ground out and a throwing error by Renny Osuna to take the early advantage.

Trailing 3-0 in the fifth, Frisco erased the deficit with three runs of their own. After Davis Stoneburner's sacrifice fly to center field, Mike Bianucci continued his hot hitting of late with a two-run single to tie the game.

Frisco starter Adalberto Flores, who has been primarily a reliever, made his second start of the season and was effective through five innings. The right-hander allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits in the no decision.

The 'Riders took their first lead of the night in the sixth inning on a Jared Bolden sacrifice fly to left field that brought in Elio Sarmiento and proved to be the game-winning score.

Midland starter Anthony Capra pitched five innings and allowed four runs on seven hits. The lefty walked four and struck out five in the loss.

Frisco reliever Jake Brigham earned his sixth win of the season after pitching a season-high four scoreless innings and allowing just two hits.

The regular season finale featuring the 'Rider and 'Hounds is Monday night at 6:05 from Dr Pepper Ballpark. Newly acquired right-hander Kyle Hendricks will make his RoughRider debut against fellow righty Sonny Gray (0-0, 0.00).
