Giants Purchase Contract Of Justin Christian
The 31-year-old Lincoln, NE native began his season at Double-A Richmond and was promoted to Fresno on July 2nd. In 64 games with the Grizzlies, Christian batted .338 (80-for-237) with 20 doubles, 10 home runs, 57 runs scored and 41 RBI. He compiled a .428 on-base percentage and a .574 slugging percentage while stealing 36 bases in just 39 attempts.
Christian was signed in the offseason as a minor league free agent. The Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA) graduate was last in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees in 2008, where he appeared in 24 games.
